Nas “Untitled” Rated 4 1/2 Mics in The Source Magazine

Posted by mrsoso on August 31, 2008

I just copped the new 20 year anniversary edition of The Source Magazine and seen Nas on one of the four collectable covers. I been waiting to read a review on Nas’ new album “Untitled” which has had its share of controversy in the past few months. I was not suprised to see The Source give the new album four-and-half mics.

Personally, I agree with the album rating. Nas’ latest release has great lyrical content and concepts, but it seems as though Nas does not fully touch on the issues being presented throughout the album. Songs like “Testify” “Fried Chicken” and “Black President” are favorites of mine, but the album cannot go as far as four and a half mics.

Other albums that are banging in the streets are Tha Carter III, The 3rd World and The Recession. Get those joints.

One Response to “Nas “Untitled” Rated 4 1/2 Mics in The Source Magazine”

  1. 4.5 mics not bad at all…0.5 away from a five
But this album is something else…its a classic. Nas is just too strong lyrically. The one thing i really like bout nas is how he keeps challenging himself. I play this CD everyday without skipping a track . I prefer this album to “Hip Hop is Dead”
